On behalf of The Town of Aurora and Aurora Town Council, I would like to thank the Aurora Chamber of Commerce for its ongoing efforts to support and enhance our community’s thriving business sector.
The Town of Aurora is a vibrant community that is blessed with a well-educated population, providing nearly 23,000 skilled workers for a diverse range of businesses. With a modern, well-maintained infrastructure and strategic transportation links to all parts of Greater Toronto, Aurora is a highly attractive location for businesses to become established.
As a past President of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and former business owner, I understand the integral role that business plays in supporting our community and the need for strategic partnerships to create strong, balanced and sustainable municipalities.
The Aurora Chamber of Commerce is a valued ally in promoting, attracting and keeping our businesses strong and prosperous. I look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship as we move forward in a number of strategic areas, including our:
-
Strategic Plan: A long-term planning document that outlines a vision for the Town of Aurora through to 2031, with a focus on public engagement and sustaining a strong economic base for our community
-
Business Retention and Expansion Strategy: Approaching businesses across our community to identify barriers to success and develop an Action Plan to provide ongoing support to businesses in the future
-
Economic Development Strategy: A comprehensive and updated approach to attracting and retaining employers
-
Community Improvement Plan: A strategy to develop incentives for attracting and developing businesses in our downtown core
By working together to further the interests of business in our community, The Town of Aurora and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce can have a tremendous and positive impact on the quality of life that residents of Aurora enjoy.
It is a natural partnership that will continue to grow and pay dividends to our residents and business owners.
Sincerely,
Mayor Geoffrey Dawe
Town of Aurora
